Recently I had the pleasure to create portraits with Desiree Adaway for her business, consulting for nonprofit organizations. Believe it or not, her portrait was taken at 4pm outside at Piedmont Park. I was able to mix the ambient lighting with my off camera flash to create a pleasing glow. I strongly believe that it gives a warm feeling to the portrait. During the session we had a bunch of laughs, Desiree had me rolling the entire time! Between laughs I was able to capture Desiree with smiles and also with more of not too serious yet friendly expression, as featured below:
After getting to know Desiree and her mission, I would like to give some background on The Adaway Group:
Desiree brings her clients insight and expertise from having served in senior-level roles in the nonprofit and grant management sectors for such renowned organizations as Habitat for Humanity International where she was the Sr. Director of Volunteer Mobilization and Rotary International where she was the director of their largest Humanitarian Grants program.
Furthermore, Desiree thrives on the possibilities that exist when nonprofit organizations dare to become FEARLESS. The Adaway Group’s mission is to help organizations step into fearlessness and make positive change happen. To find out more about Desiree and to read her blog, click here.

Nicely executed portrait. Your use of side-lighting is very well done.
